I had an idea a couple weeks ago to paint a wooden watercolor border. The idea is that I can swap out elements on top for different themes, seasons or holidays.
Life has been hectic lately so it sat in my head. Sometimes when ideas sit in my head for too long before acting on them, they can grow and become too overwhelming. The fear of the final product not living up to the vision in my head becomes too much, too much to even try and attempt. Fortunately, I acted on this one and I’m so happy with what I’ve got so far.
The original idea was to make a watercolor border that almost looks like a decorative cut out wooden picture frame, and then I would create a variety of different elements separately and arrange them like collage over top of the frame. Once I had the border done, I scanned it so I could use it for the variety of sets I had in mind, but because I had it digitally, I ended up taking it into Procreate and creating those elements digitally. I kind of wanted them to look like cut out felt pieces, but truthfully, they look more like paper cut pieces. I LOVE IT!
I had the stationery set printed and I added my mushroom stamp to the envelopes. This set and many more are available in my Etsy store as well as on Faire for wholesale

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
SO very cute!
