I had this idea over a year ago, originally. I took two images from my flickr favorites, and overlayed them in photoshop. I loved it so much that I used it as a wallpaper on my desktop for a long time. Those images weren’t mine, and one of them was protected under the creative commons, so I can’t share it, but it gave me the idea to use my own images. While I spun up the light blue yarn recently, for matt’s grandma, I thought how cool it would look over a picture of a globe. My dad has this really old globe so I took some pictures, matched it up with my handspun yarn, and tada!
Then I matched up a few other yarns I spun with some other pictures I took. One of my dad’s old Pontiac and one of the chicago skyline at the Cloudgate.
I really love how they look.

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
