Today’s entry is a movie I love, Heartlands. I just looked up the IMDB page and found it almost completely empty, so I guess this movie has gone a bit under the radar. It is a slow, simple and beautiful movie, I say slow because a lot of people I know can’t stand slow moving films, but I enjoy them if there is a lot to take in and this film has plenty. It’s a road trip movie that captures everyday beauty in life and nature. I have to admit the first time I saw it, I thought the main character was an idiot. Watching it again I realized he was just a simple man, going through changes and that was just one of the things that made this movie brilliant; simplicity. Now I’ve grown to adore his character. Through this movie I also discovered a new favorite musician Kate Rusby. She did the entire soundtrack and I bought it and have listened to it repeatedly since then.
