So here is a sneak peak to three new grass paintings I’ve been working on over the past few days. I just finished the grass part and have the text picked out, but painting them on will have to wait a day or so.
These paintings are pretty small. They are bigger than the very first one (seen here) but not by much, maybe 5″x5″. But in comparison to this one, it’s a baby version. My hands are feeling quite crippled from painting with such a tiny brush. Somewhere I have a brush I adapted to have a more comfortable grip, but instead of searching for it, I went the self flagellation route. Honestly it only started feeling like torture for the last hour but I was so close that i pushed through. When I was done I couldn’t open my ring or pinky fingers on my right hand. Ouch. But you know what they say “no pain, no gain.”

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
Your hand cramping story makes my own hands seize up. I’ve been having a similar experience from embroidering tiny ornaments!
Can’t wait to see the new grass paintings!
Um, could just be “no pain, no pain”. ;)
Cute paintings.
