Today’s piece should be filed under Awesomosity!
Earlier today I saw this image in my flickr favorites and I instantly wanted to carve a stamp I could use repeatedly in one piece. I also had a lunch date with printer extraordinaire, pejnolan, so printing was a necessity.
I spied my ecosphere and got the idea to do a piece based on that.
Above you can see the progression of the stamp, from the blank block, to the original sketch, line drawing on the block and then the actual cut out stamp.
I love, love, love this piece and am so inspired to do more using handcarved stamps.

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
Wait a minute! I did not know you could make stamps! I love this one! What kind of ink can you use with a stamp like this?
I love it! Is the stamp wood or some other material?
