MEME-TIME

I was tagged by Rosa to write about 8 random things about myself. 

1. This is the first I’ve ever actually been “tagged” to do a meme, usually I’ll see one I like and just do it. Being tagged makes me feel loved, thanks Rosa (((hugs))).

2. I was named after an episode of Welcome Back Kotter. Kotter and his wife were expecting a child and the episode that aired the evening I was born had a surprise when they had twins rather than just one child. The babies were named Robyn and Rachel and that was what I was named, Robyn Rachel. When I was in middle school I had to do one of those “what happened, the year/month/week/day that you were born” reports. And while searching on the microfiche (ya, remember microfiche?) I saw an ad for that nights episode and it said “introducing the newest sweathog”.

3. When Netflix refuses to send me the movie at the top of my queue (very long wait) I delete all my movies except for that one and then they send it to me. It works, but instead of sending it out that day, they send it out a day or two later. Anyway, Right now I have one of the very long wait dvds, Craft In America, the PBS series. Oh, it is SO GOOD.

4. I have 7,492 songs in itunes library right now. That means that I could play songs for 185 days STRAIGHT without hearing a repeat of any tracks. This does not include the stack of CDs sitting on the desk that I need to add still. I like music, what can I say?

5. I take lots of pictures of myself :/

6. I am terrified of ticks. I’ve never been bitten (knock on wood), but I am petrified of the idea. It’s the fear of lyme disease that scares me, not so much the biting and parasitic nature of the beast.

7. I’ve never read a Harry Potter book and I’ve only ever seen the first movie. One time, after the second book came out I started to read the first book, it was good, what I read of it, but I just didn’t consumed by it and never finished it. I still felt that Peter Pan is a more imaginative children’s book.

8. I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life. And as Matt and my brother reminded me recently, I used that as my “get out of jail free card” when there was a possibility that I might get arrested one time. They laugh now, but the truth is I was the one who stepped up and spoke to the cops and we all walked free.
