Best feeling in the world (at least for today): when the jeans I’ve been wearing for months feel like brand new pairs because they are starting to fit more loosely.
Aaaahh, the Couch to 5K program is coming along, I’m on week 3, workout 3. And I think I might hang out here an extra workout just to be sure. I’ve read not to read ahead in the program and psych yourself out by thinking “I can’t do it”.
This weekend I went from one ipod to three. Saturday, after reading about the damage that can be done to a regular ipod when used during runs, I decided that might have been what killed my first ipod. With my commitment to exercise going strong I decided to reward myself and buy a ipod shuffle. Then on Sunday, or was it Monday, my sister lent me this hook thing used to open up ipods to aid in replacing defective batteries. So I opened up my old dead ipod to take a peek inside. I saw the hard drive and battery, pressed some squishy thing, and then low and behold, IT WORKS! So now I have a 40 gig third generation ipod, an 80 gig video ipod and now a shuffle. I haven’t taken the shuffle out of the packaging because I was going to save it as a reward for using the gym BEFORE work. Now I am debating, do I really need 3 ipods? Of course not, but the shuffle would be so great for running, it’s small, I would stop accidentally pulling out my ear buds and I wouldn’t have to worry about destroying a large ipod. For that price, of returning the shuffle, I could buy a really nice new pair of running shoes to replace the ones I’ve been using since 2001. Hmmm, quandary.

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
From your description, my guess is the hard drive connection was loose. If you were using it while running, maybe it jarred loose. Anyway, I vote for using the old 3G for running, returning the shuffle, and getting something else to reward yourself. Then if the 3G conks out for good you can always go buy the shuffle later.
