Earlier this year I was invited by the highly creative and prolific Julie Fei-Fan Balzer to be part of her Artful Holiday Class. The class is 31 days of holiday inspired projects, taught by 19 instructors.
The fun begins August 1st, 2022, but is self paced and has lifetime access, so you can jump in and out whenever you like.
For my project I created a step-by-step video tutorial for you (my first time ever!), sharing exactly how to make these fun self mailers above, a letter and envelope all in one! I hope that you will join me and the eighteen other talented artists for more than thirty hand made art projects to display in your home, give to your friends, and celebrate special days. The Artful Holiday Class includes printmaking, collage, assemblage, painting, paper crafts, jewelry making, sewing, and more. Use the links in this post to sign up and I’ll get a percentage of the sale, at no extra cost to you.
Also, if you sign up before August 1st, you can use the code: EARLYARTFUL for a 15% discount
Julie has been sharing projects she’s made from some of the classes on her instagram, and youtube, as well as interviews she has done with several of the makers, including myself.
Recently she shared some paper earrings she made and I’m kind of obsessed. If you’ve been around a while, you might know this Robayre Fun Fact – I don’t have my ears pierced. Well, I have a helix cartridge piercing on one ear, but I’ve never had my earlobes pierced. When I was little and friends of mine were getting their ears pierced I wanted them done, but instead my parents just got clip-on and stick-ons, and by the time I was in middle or high school I never really thought about it. Within the last couple of years I’ve been seeing earrings made from from paper art (and we know how much I LOVE wearable art) and that is the first time I thought that having earrings might be fun. Julie said her mom didn’t get her ears pierced until Julie was 16. Is this class going to be the thing that finally drives me to the nearest Claire’s to get my ears pierced?!
I really had a good time getting to talk to Julie about my work and background during this interview, and would love for you to check it out. I think it will get you excited for the class, and hopefully you join me for the Artful Holiday in August.
Let me know if you sign up and we can chat about the class and projects we make, it’s gonna be fun!

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
