My birthday was a of couple of weeks ago. My parents got me these Alegria shoes I’ve been drooling over for a long time.
And it’s been almost 2 months since my sister gave me her early birthday present, the Fitbit One, which I still LOVE and am still on track at 10,000 steps every day. There are so many days where I come home and just want to lay down and forget about it, but then I think about how I’ll I have to do is walk for 20 minutes to get in my steps and even if that means walking on the treadmill, around the block a couple of times, or even around the ping pong a billion times, I seem to get the motivation somehow. I LOVE checking in on the fitbit app on my ipod touch regularly throughout the day and seeing my stats and where I’m at.
And then to put this blog at risk for drawing attention to foot fetishists, more of my feet, but really, how cool are these slippers?
And now for the real reason behind this post… on my birthday my nephew, age 3, presented me with this
My sister in law and my nephew worked on this together. He’s at the age where he’s really into gluing things, in fact he also gave me a birthday card that he glued shut before giving it to me, haha. The idea behind this project is that every week since my birthday my nephew has presented me with a box.
It was so cute, he came knocking on my door and then when I answered it, he handed me the box and then asked can he come in and play. The box is filled with things he has picked out, and the objective is to use the contents of the box to “Go Make Something”. Very creative, and I’m sure pinterest played a part in coming up with this idea.
I have 3 boxes now and I’m kind of mixing and matching contents from the different boxes to make different things.
Here is my first project using the contents of my birthday project boxes. I made a holiday door decoration. I painted the glass in the picture frame with chalkboard paint and then used the holiday ribbons to embellish the edges of the frame. It was relatively quick and fun to make. Now what? Stay tuned to see what other projects I make from the Birthday Project boxes.
