sunprint

After staying in my pajamas and resting all weekend, I am finally feeling better. My nose is literally peeling from blowing my nose so much. I actually went through 3 boxes of tissues, it was insane. Today was my first day back to work since last Wednesday and I’m worn out. As soon as I finish my post, I’m hitting the hay.

I realized I haven’t shared the above image. This weekend I found my sunprint kit that I got last may when we went to the Indiana Dunes. I put together this quick arrangement (right) and made the print on the left. I think it took me this long to figure out how it works exactly. The instructions don’t explain that after you do it, and rinse it in water, then let it dry, it continues to develop and takes quite a bit of time to actually become a complete negative of how it starts out. Previously, I would get very discouraged because halfway through it almost becomes completely invisible when the image area matches the background. But, if you wait it out, the image will come out looking like the above, quite contrasting.

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
